(I found on the street what I seek at home)

Em noites quentes de verão, o chão alcatroado das ruas assemelha-se ainda mais ao calor das paredes de um quarto ou à pele queimada de um corpo suado. A casa está onde a procuramos – ou encontramos. Não existem exigências estruturais para definir o lugar, a matéria ou a carne a que pertencemos. A cortina que balança entre o interior e o exterior da persiana entreaberta torna a rua num espaço tão íntimo como aquele de onde se ouvem murmúrios sobre a Copa do Mundo. Em manhãs quentes de verão, o cheiro fresco da relva regada e da roupa lavada assemelha-se ainda mais ao calor dos lençóis de uma cama ou à pele ferida de um corpo magoado pelo sal do mar. A casa está onde a encontramos – de novo, sai-se à rua para a procurar. A cortina descansa agora no interior da persiana fechada. Numa ânsia para que, quando o sol pousar o tecido, volte a dançar pela brisa abafada e encontre de novo a casa na rua.

On warm summer nights, the tarmac of the street feels even more like the heat of a bedroom wall or the burnt skin of a sweaty body.
Home is where we search for it, or where we find it. There are no structural requirements to define the place, the matter, or the flesh to which we belong. The curtain swaying between the inside and the outside of a half-open shutter makes the street feel as intimate as the room from which murmurs about the World Cup can be heard. On warm summer mornings, the fresh smell of watered grass and clean laundry feels even more like the warmth of bed sheets or the wounded skin of a body stung by sea salt. Home is where we find it – again, we step out to look for it. The curtain now rests on the inside of the closed shutter. Longing for the moment when, as the sun begins to set, the fabric will once again dance with the heavy breeze and find home in the street.
This is a project that reflects on spaces, bodies, images, objects, people, gestures where we find love and comfort.
